       Here's the pup from the highlighed section of the previous photograph.

       According to witnesses, the pup was originally bought to be the boy's pet, but when someone offered to buy it, the adult present put a $150 price tag on it and would have handed it over if someone had held out the cash.

       What kind of message did that send to the youngster?
