       A horse-drawn buggy passes a protest sign on the way to Horst Stables and the 22 Sept 07 Thorp dog auction.

       The sign says, "I gave you DOMINION over the animals, NOT permission to be Cruel. -- God." Many of the protest signs were religiously oriented, since most of the "dog farmers" present at the auction were members of a well-known religious sect noted for their gentleness.
