Thorp Dog Auction Scrapbook: Dooley

Previous -- Next

This cute little guy was pulled from the auction by the USDA inspector because his teeth are so bad that he can't pull his tongue in or close his mouth.

This adorable little guy was NOT able to close his mouth or retract his tongue into his mouth. He was pulled by the USDA inspector on site as not being "sale-able" — one of our team offered to "take the dog" and the miller gave the dog to her.

Dooley had a severe hernia, and every tooth in his mouth had to be removed...at less then 5 years of age he has no teeth left.

When Dooley came away from the Thorp Dog Auction he had a look that said "I just wish I were dead." After just one week of love and care, his foster mom started to see a sparkle in his eyes! When he wagged his tail for the very first time, she cried tears of joy. As she says, "He still gets it! He still knows he's a dog, that life isn't full of misery and pain and that (some) people can be trusted."
