Most people think of mill dogs
as being mainly the smaller breeds. Precious Lady, a battle-scarred yellow lab,
would like to say, she knows from first-hand experience that this is not the
case.
Precious Lady was sold as
pregnant -- in fact, the auctioneer pronounced her "Ready to deliver any
day now!" Lady was NOT pregnant, just "morbidly obese." Wouldn't
you think these "breeders" would be able to tell?
When Precious Lady was first
rescued, she would lie down flat whenever anyone approached, as if she was
trying to disappear. She was terrified of hands and feet and cringed if one
came her way -- it was eight weeks before she would even take a piece of
cheeseburger from a human hand!
She is now in an
extremely loving an gentle home where she is being given all the time she needs
to become the dog she was always meant to be...sweet and loving...and
loved.
